Apple's March Event: What to Expect
Apple has officially scheduled its first major event of the year. The company extended invitations to members of the press for an "Apple Experience" in New York City. Versions of this event will also take place in London and Shanghai.
The timing aligns with earlier reports suggesting hardware announcements were imminent. Mark Gurman at Bloomberg had indicated that Apple planned to make several hardware announcements "as early as the week of March 2." This has fueled speculation about the potential unveiling of new iPads and MacBooks.
Potential Product Unveiling
The event is expected to showcase a range of new products. This could include a new MacBook Air and refreshed 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, potentially featuring the debut of the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. There's also anticipation for a new entry-level MacBook that may come in light yellow, light green, blue, and pink color options.
Beyond MacBooks, new iPads could also be on the horizon. This might include an entry-level model with an A18 chip capable of supporting Apple Intelligence features. The iPad Air is also rumored to receive an upgrade with the introduction of the M4 chip.
Broader Product Refresh Later in the Year
Apple isn't expected to stop with just iPads and MacBooks. The company is also projected to release updated versions of the Mac Studio, Studio Display, and Mac mini later in the year. The The Verge reports that a preview of Apple’s new AI-infused Siri is also likely.
The Barcelona mobile show runs from March 2-5, and will yield a slew of new devices from major phone brands hoping to compete with Apple's stable of iPhones, which could well include a new addition, reports CNET.
