Google Vids Adds Free AI Video Generation with Omni 1.2

Google Vids now generates AI videos up to 15 seconds long using the Omni 1.2 Flash model, tripling the previous 5-second limit. This update, announced on November 5, 2026, allows Google account and Google Workspace users to create up to three 15-second videos per month at no cost.

This enhancement significantly boosts the platform's video creation capabilities, making longer, more visually consistent content accessible to a broader user base without additional charges. The move positions Google Vids as a strong contender in the competitive AI video generation market.

What Does Omni 1.2 Flash Offer Users?

The new model extends video generation from a previous limit of five seconds to 15 seconds in Google Vids. This increased duration is suitable for social media clips, product demonstrations, and presentation B-roll.

Omni 1.2 Flash also improves temporal consistency. This prevents objects from morphing or scenes from shifting unnaturally between frames throughout the full video duration. Users can upload reference images, ensuring characters and scenes remain consistent.

Additionally, the model features improved speech narration. This makes generated clips sound more natural, enhancing the quality of concept explainers and teaser videos.

How Does Google Vids Compare to Other AI Video Tools?

The update brings a 30% reduction in 720p generation costs, priced at $0.07 per second. A 15-second clip generated by Omni 1.2 Flash costs $1.05 at 720p resolution before any additional editing.

Users can generate and edit videos lasting three to 15 seconds, adjustable in one-second increments. Teams can draft at lower resolutions and upscale approved footage to 1080p or 4K. Google continues to enhance its video capabilities; for example, a previous update introduced AI video, music, and live avatars, which you can read more about in Google Vids Unleashes Veo, Lyria, AI, Direct Avatars.
